A lovely cake made for the birthday celebration.
The Queens Jubilee celebrations in Newmarket 2022.
Recently the congregation "acted" chapters from a book written by Minister Barry Oates, The Five Pillars of Hope, A Prequel. The chapter's were beautifully read by the volunteers who are pictured on the left with author Barry. Thank you to everyone who took part. The embroidery is from our "Visitors Book", new visitors are encouraged to write something on a large sheet which is then embroidered over in bright colours, a unique way to capture memories. |
Each month the Centre holds a raffle in support of a community in Swaziland, South Africa.
The charity S.H.I.P. The Shewula Health Integration Project, was founded in 2000 by one of our congregation, Jacqueline Shaerer. The objective is to help to relieve poverty, distress and sickness of orphaned children who have suffered loss with the after effects of HIV/AIDS. There are many elderly who need support from home repairs to helping with hospital visits and equipment. The list of Jacqueline help is on going and huge. She has helped with building a clinic, a school, providing cows to a farmer who now has a beautiful herd, which means the school and neighbours have fresh milk. Another farmer had crops given to him, this also provides food for the community. A lady was given a sewing machine and had lessons in dressmaking, she can earn a living making clothes. The list goes on. Jacqueline sends parcels out on a regular basis packed with school items for the children - pens, pencils, crayons, paper, small toys and clothes. A knitting circle in Newmarket sends all sorts of garments from hats to jumpers, blankets and clothes which the children love. The brighter the better. Any small donation of these items are truly welcomed. Just recently we have been given wonderful donations, financial and gifts for the children. £100.00 from Minister Barry Oates and £150.00 from Len, another of our congregation. Such blessings, and Thank You to both. |
